Loch Leven looking West Loch Leven looking East

Base camp is Caolasnacon campsite on the South shore of Loch Leven. We arrive there on the Friday night (via the chippy!) and stay until the Sunday morning. Once the expedition is completed, you will have another two nights there. Your supervisor will be based there all week.

The campsite is split into several fields, and there is plenty of space for the tents. It is possible to wander down to the Loch and try and catch some fish (not that we've ever caught any!) but remember that it is a sea loch, so the water is tidal.

There are hot showers, flush toilets (after four days of wild camping these things become very important) and laundry facilities, but no shop on site.
